Sandra is an Onboarding Specialist who has been at HomeStars since December 2016. In addition to helping countless companies enhance their online reputation, Sandra is always willing to help her coworkers. It was no surprise when Sandra was voted HomeStars very first Employee of the Month! When not working you can find her reading, dancing, spending time with loved ones, or baking delicious treats. What is your role at HomeStars?
Currently, as an Onboarding Specialist, I help companies build their HomeStars profile (i.e. pics/logo/copy) and teach them how to use the HomeStars for Pros APP so that they can easily build their book of reviews and manage connections.
If you could trade jobs with someone at HomeStars for a day who would it be and why?
I would love to have a developer mind and understand coding and all the steps involved in building, maintaining and optimizing the product. I know I would walk away with greater insight and appreciation of their world. I think this experience would improve how I speak to and explain the product to customers.
How do you stay up to date within your evolving industry?
I make it a habit to read every day, even if it’s 1 article. My favourites are Harvard Business Review, anything Dale Carnegie, Think with Google articles, and anything to do with understanding online marketing.
When it is allowed, I would like to go back to assist participants as they go through the Dale Carnegie Course. Seeing others flourish while stretching your own comfort zone is such a high.
What fictional place do you wish really existed?
Any tiny town featured in those predictable Hallmark movies but with tangible diversity and equality for everyone — then it would be truly ideal.
What was your dream job as a child?
It’s funny, I wanted to be a SOLID GOLD dancer but I also wanted to work for the United Nations and help disadvantaged people… What can I say!
What is one skill that you would like to master?
Professional – Negotiating
Fun – Decorate cakes like The Cake Boss
Physical – Olympic level floor gymnast
