What is your role at HomeStars?
My role at HomeStars is “Marketing Automation Specialist” on the B2B side and as part of this role, I am responsible for ideating, creating, and sending marketing communications to our service professionals with the final goal to convert them into paid customers and retain them in this status for good. For example, right now we are working on a new lead nurture series that will help us to nurture brand new leads to claim their profile which in return, will benefit our claimed nurture series with new prospects and bring us one step closer to our goal to make an SP conversion ready.
Typical tasks in my day to day agenda would be: Coding HTML emails, work on our Marketing Automation platform (Pardot) to set up campaigns and automations, bring to the table new ideas and concepts, testing different strategies, analyze performance data, and most importantly, bring conversion-ready leads to our AAA class sales team!
When you aren’t at HomeStars, what are you doing?
Currently in the winter with lockdown? Mostly playing video games and cooking. When I do go outside, I like to go hiking, camping trips and travel in general.
How do you stay up to date within your evolving industry?
I read materials from across the web and attend seminars/webinars when the topic is new to me or I feel I can improve on it. Other than that, it would be to actually help the industry evolve. As a relatively new role in general, I see Marketing Automation as a profession that’s still building itself, and each person that deals with it sets new ways to do things and achieve goals.
What is the best piece of advice you have gotten working here?
Don’t be afraid to express yourself and your ideas.
What is one skill that you would like to master?
Piloting small airplanes like a Cessna.
If you were a dish of food what would you be and why?
Obviously pizza, the pinnacle of mankind’s culinary creation in my opinion. I think pizza can be compared to Marketing Automation. Like in good marketing automation, a good pizza is one that will provide the correct slice with the right taste to the right audience.
