Jordana is a Senior Business Development Consultant who has been at HomeStars since July 2017 and loves the positive environment and the community of working here. She loves to travel, most recently having been to the beautiful beaches in the Bahamas, has the secret talent of singing Spice Girls’ songs at karaoke, and would be a small but fierce koala bear if she were an animal. Meet Jordana by learning more about her below.
What is your role at HomeStars?
My main role at HomeStars is to reach out to a variety of businesses and contractors to bring them on board as members of HomeStars! We support the businesses and contractors to grow their brands and to connect with new customers.
What qualities do you look for in an ideal teammate?
An ideal teammate is someone who brings energy and enthusiasm to the team and uplifts the spirits of the people around them.
What has your journey at HomeStars been like so far?
I started out as a Business Development Associate for the first year at HomeStars. After bringing on over 100 businesses as new HomeStars members, I was promoted to the role of Senior Business Development Consultant! I work towards bringing high quality businesses onto HomeStars who will be successful members and provide the most value to the homeowners who use the website.
What has been your proudest HomeStars moment?
Walking in on my first day at HomeStars as the only female in the office on the sales floor! I’m proud to see many smart and talented women doing amazing work as top performers on the sales floor in 2020.
What is the best piece of advice you have gotten working here?
The best advice I’ve gotten is not to get caught up in the moment but focus on the bigger picture. In sales, we handle a lot of objections in our daily conversations. When we focus on the success and accomplishments of the businesses that we bring on board instead of the setbacks, it’s very rewarding.
What was your first job?
My first job was writing articles for a newspaper that were published online and in print! I got to attend events and report on them, like a fashion show that raised funds for an organization that provides therapy and education to students with special needs. It was a great experience!
