Diogo has been at HomeStars since October 2018 and can always be found with a smile on his face, ready to lend a helping hand to customers or his fellow coworkers. Diogo has just won January’s Employee of the Month and loves surfing, skateboarding and soccer! Meet Diogo by learning more about him below.
What is your role at HomeStars?
I’m currently an Account Manager which means I’m responsible for about 500 accounts. My job is to help companies succeed on the platform, build their online reputation and to grow their business.
What has your journey at HomeStars been like so far?
I started as a Business Development Associate, a role that challenged me a lot and took me out of my comfort zone considering I had never done that kind of job before. I learned a lot about the product, how to deal with customers and improved my sales skills. After that, I was promoted to Account Manager, which was what I always wanted to do since I started at HomeStars. I’ve been in that position for 7 months so far and I’ve been helping the company and my teammates ever since.
What qualities do you look for in a teammate?
Reliable. Helpful. Coachable. Trustworthy. Someone who is able to bring smiles to their teammates’ faces and help make the environment less stressful.
How do you stay up to date in your role and industry?
I read books that help me to improve my skills when dealing with customers. I also read articles about the construction industry and its trends to find different ways to help contractors beyond the HomeStars world.
What is your proudest moment at HomeStars so far?
Being nominated Employee of the Month I think was THE moment for me! It was proof of all the hard work I’ve been putting in.
What is the best piece of advice you have received while working at HomeStars?
Talk to people, talk to your teammates, ask for help and advice. That will be the best way for you to improve and learn about HomeStars and its products.
