There’s a good chance that somewhere within the HomeStars website, there’s a ticket promotion or charity program. If it’s not running now for your city, stay tuned. In Vancouver we are running two: Vancouver Home + Design Show and the Vancouver Public Library Foundation.
Ticket promotions and fundraising programs have become commonplace for HomeStars. It’s a great way to give back, build a relationship with our members, populate the site with searchable content and continue to be a valuable resource for the community. To make the most of our promotions and programs, today we are sharing some helpful tips to enrich your experience.
1. Use the designated promo page. HomeStars creates a designated page for each promotion we host. By using that specific page, we can ensure that your review will be assigned to the correct promotion or program.
2. Read the fine print and follow the directions. Different promotions and programs may have different requirements. For a ticket promotion this will be based on the price of admission. Make sure you follow the directions for that promotion and write the required number of reviews. A reminder to read the fine print.
3. You must sign in. Our registration and sign in process guarantees other users, those who are reading your reviews, that you are a real person.
4. Rome wasn’t built in a day but we need at least one to process your review(s). We take your reviews seriously, taking into consideration the user (you) and the company you are reviewing. Each review is subject to a variety of checks to help ensure its legitimacy. And that takes time.
5. One common pattern we see are reviews submitted for the same company by spouses. If you review the service or purchase at a company, your spouse can’t review the same company.
6. We don’t allow reviews of big box stores for promotions. I LOVE Costco, HomeSense, London Drugs, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, IKEA and many more big box stores. Their service and offerings are well-known and regarded. For this reason, reviews of these retailers are not allowed for ticket promotions and charity programs.
7. Take your time. We don’t feel our review process is difficult but as with anything, with time it does become easier. We ask that you take your time in completing the process. In doing so, it will eliminate any issues or delays in receiving your ticket or applying funds to a charity promotion.
We look forward to your reviews. And depending on whether you are responding to a ticket promotion or charity program…enjoy the event or thank you for supporting the charity.
