HomeStars is proud to shine a light on employees that hustle hard to embody our award-winning culture and we want you to want to join them! Get to know your future teammates, why they love working at HomeStars, and what they’re doing outside of work.
Danielle is our Office Coordinator who has been at HomeStars since January 2020. She describes her proudest HomeStars moment as bringing in our largest group of Sales Representatives the very first time that she hired. The talent she would choose to master is loving to cook, although admits that that’s not going well so far. If she were to choose an animal to be, being a friendly and happy person, it would be a Golden Retriever. Meet Danielle!
What is your role at HomeStars?
My role is Office Coordinator. My main responsibilities were to manage the office – since we’ve closed our office due to COVID I’ve taken on more of a talent acquisition role and I hire and onboard for our Sales and Customer Success departments now!
What makes you excited to come to work every day?
I love the team I work with! I also love that working for a growing company means getting to wear many different hats in a day – no day is the same and it keeps me on my toes. I really like a fast-paced environment so I love the challenge this role brings me.
Describe the qualities of your ideal teammate.
Someone fun! I need a teammate I can joke around with, I like keeping things light and funny at work so I need someone who wants to keep a fun and happy work environment going. Also, someone very hardworking – it’s about balance, people!
What has your journey at HomeStars been like so far?
When I originally started as an Office Coordinator I did a lot of office tasks, ordering supplies, ordering office snacks (my favourite thing to do), handling the office expenses. Now my role is very HR-focused so I mainly hire and onboard our sales and customer success employees and also do a bit of “remote office” work like handling employee equipment issues and assisting our Finance and Business Ops departments.
When you aren’t at HomeStars, what are you doing?
Before COVID I loved going to dance classes at the Underground Dance Center – I’ll be back one day! Now I’m probably watching New Girl on my couch.
What is the best piece of advice you have gotten working here?
I’m not one to take breaks so our Talent Acquisition Manager Brandon tells me “a race car needs pit stops to run at its best performance.” I remind myself of that often.
