What is your role at HomeStars?
I’m the Senior Admissions Officer which means I make sure all home service professionals on HomeStars are licensed and safe to hire. Ensuring homeowners hire a Verified company is important and it’s my job to make sure we’re recommending trustworthy companies.
What qualities do you look for in an ideal teammate?
I like to see someone who takes accountability for their actions, both good and bad. Someone who moves forward regardless of success or failure. I think these are qualities that make up an ideal teammate.
What has your journey at HomeStars been like so far?
When I first started at HomeStars I was an Admissions Officer. One year later I was promoted to Senior Admissions Officer and became the team lead. I’ve learned so much since working in this role, but my favourite opportunity was becoming a part of the Data Stewards team. I learned the basics of data gathering and reporting which enables me to provide reports to the Customer Success team.
What has been your proudest HomeStars moment?
Consistently hitting targets and going beyond during the Covid-19 pandemic has been a big achievement. I’m also proud of my accomplishment of becoming a Data Steward for the CS team.
What was your first job?
My first job was being a Milkman. I started when I was 14 and would wake up at 4:30 in the morning on weekends to go around delivering milk and dairy products. During the week, I would go around collecting money after school. Fun fact, in Ireland, milk doesn’t come in a bag, it comes in cartons and jugs. It also doesn’t have an expiry of 4 months! Fresh milk and dairy products are delivered daily because the shelf life is much shorter.
If you were an animal, which one would you be and why?
I would be a polar bear because I love the ocean and swimming. I prefer cold weather over hot and I enjoy eating more than I’m supposed to.
