This Tuesday October 19th, Enterprise Toronto is hosting an all day Small Business Forum at the Metro Convention Centre (255 Front St. W. – North Building, 100 Level) from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. This is a free event but registration is required for attendance here.

Hosted by Enterprise Toronto, this event celebrates Toronto’s small business community and the achievements of successful entrepreneurs and local businesses. They have been working for months to pull together a great agenda across important topics for small business: financing your business (I’m honoured to have been asked to join this panel at 2pm), online marketing, growing your sales in new markets, approaching investors and more. There are 18 speakers and over 80 exhibitors  – the full agenda is on their web site at

Kicking off the event is a topic top of mind for HomeStars –  “Finding Customers Online” with Chris O’Neill, head of Google Canada. Online, Canadian consumers spend more than Canadian businesses – and he’ll talk about the importance of keeping up with where consumers spend their time. HomeStars just ran two  panels on this very topic at the Hamilton and Toronto Fall home shows to about 100 companies. If you missed it will be posting a video shortly of the highlights. Communicating online and using mobile technology is where smart companies continue to make big gains in growing their business.

Occurring during Small Business Week in Canada, the Small Business Forum is a great opportunity to meet dozens of new people who are new and existing small business owners.
