Hannah had just bought her first home, a 40-year-old condo in the suburbs of Burnaby. On a tight budget after the purchase, she didn’t think the substantial renovations her place needed were possible. Hannah’s search was hard – she did the right thing by reaching out to multiple companies, but when some companies heard her wishlist combined with her budget, they wouldn’t even respond to her emails. What was Hannah to do?
Enter E2 Painting and Finishing Inc who were originally brought over just to quote a paint job. First impressions matter, especially when you’re trusting someone to come in and work on your home. Hannah found Adam to be friendly and personable right from the start. They started chatting and when Hannah mentioned her dream renovations, Adam responded with, “We can do that!” His can-do attitude impressed Hannah so much, she knew E2 was the right company for her projects. What started off as a pipe dream, quickly became a reality.
“Adam is highly organized and stayed right on schedule the entire 6 weeks. I also appreciated how transparent Adam was throughout the renovation process; whenever a problem arose, Adam would call or text to let me know right away, and then quickly offer solutions. Although I was never on site, Adam made us feel like we were part of [the] renovation process.”
In six weeks, Adam and his team were able to completely transform Hannah’s entire home. Several projects were undertaken during the tight timeline. One of the most notable is the bathroom transformation. While the bathroom had been updated sometime during this century, it wasn’t to Hannah’s liking. E2 installed a modern double sink with chic matte black hardware. They also painted the walls and added classic white subway tiles behind the sink and wrapping them around the custom storage unit. They also changed the doors to match the modern aesthetic of the bathroom. The addition of new lighting fixtures really helps this renovation shine.
Another major transformation was done in the kitchen. E2 removed the upper cabinets on one side to open up the kitchen pass-through. Next, they extended the counter for seating on the opposite side. They also added new high gloss cabinetry and stainless steel appliances to keep the sleek modern appearance going throughout the condo. While not the biggest kitchen, keeping everything neutral and bright gives the appearance of a larger space.
It’s clear to see that Hannah’s project turned out beautifully and completely transformed her 1979 condo. Adam and his team worked on it like it was their own home, adding in nice surprises like dimmable lights in the bathroom. Still, even with a nearly perfect renovation, touch-ups are sometimes needed. Thankfully E2 provides a one year warranty that they honour earnestly. From fixing a cracked tile to tweaking a leaky sink, E2 made sure Hannah was completely happy with their work.
When a company goes above and beyond to ensure their clients are happy, their clients notice.
“We are super impressed with the after service, as they aren’t a company that disappears after the job is done. Adam always responds to any concern within 24hrs and is truly one of the hardest working guys out there. Also, Dan from E2 is THE Jack of All Trades. He made custom bookshelves for us and told us that if he doesn’t know how to do something, he will LEARN to do it!”
Not hearing back from several companies can be discouraging, but if they don’t respond to you, you probably don’t want to work with them anyway. This is why we always recommend reaching out to several contractors when starting a project. By talking to multiple companies, you’re more likely to find the right one for you. Hannah was certainly lucky finding E2.
