Jessica is an Account Manager who has been at HomeStars since January 2018. She credits the company culture as the reason why she is excited to come to HomeStars every day. At work, she loves the company values, people, and how everyone works together. What is your role at HomeStars?
I currently work as a dedicated Account Manager here at HomeStars. My role is to develop a relationship with business owners and grow their client base as efficiently as possible. As a successful Account Manager, I have helped with compounding companies’ relationships through quality reviews. Beyond that, I also continuously collaborate with managers and other teams to improve company processes.
What qualities do you look for in an ideal teammate?
A great teammate is unselfish and can put the team first. They are honest and the majority of the time are not in competition with you but will willingly pass on tips and tricks to help you and everyone around you become better.
What has your journey at HomeStars been like so far?
I first started out on the Sales team and after a few months, I transitioned to the Customer Success team where I worked with Customer Support and Verification. I also used my data analysis and statistics knowledge in a pilot project that eventually was implemented. After a few changes to company structure, I then embraced my current role as an Account Manager.
As there are so many aspects of an AM beyond just servicing clients, my evolution of roles has made me, even more, appreciate the complexity of the company’s business model.
What is the best piece of advice you have gotten working here?
I remember from my interview with Nancy 2.5 years ago on joining the company, I asked her if being in a male-dominant industry held her back. The answer she gave me was that I should never let any group of any sort ever limit my beliefs on how I can attain my goals in life. Since then, I have worked hard enough to get an Employee Spotlight and her guidance has made me shine throughout these few years at HomeStars.

I would like to be able to speak, read and write in 10 languages.
