Cameron is an integral part of our team at HomeStars. He is always willing to lend a supporting hand whether it is a review issue, quoting problem, or just bouncing ideas. He utilizes his analytical skills to understand challenges and continues to showcase a solution-oriented mindset. Cam has proven to build relationships with his teammates and clients and deliver upon expectations using a combination of data, empathy, and knowledge. What is your role at HomeStars?
I’m an Account Manager here at HomeStars. I manage a portion of customers and look after them to make sure they’re taking the actions to be successful on the platform. There are lots of check-in meetings, review support sessions, onboarding new hires within the company, and troubleshooting when something goes wrong. I also support the team with processing quotes and searching up reviews for their customers.
What makes you excited to come to work every day?
My teammates get me excited to come to work every day. They’re an incredibly supportive group with plenty of experience so it’s not difficult to get support when it’s needed in a tough situation. We all go through so many different situations that no matter what happens there is always someone who can help out to teach you something new.
Describe the qualities of your ideal teammate.
Blonde hair, barks, four legs, a tail, loves long walks and snacks. I would also be happy to work with:
- Someone who isn’t afraid to speak their mind.
- Someone who can be trusted to follow through on their promises.
- Someone who can be held accountable for their actions.
- Someone who is open-minded and will listen to differing perspectives.
How do you stay up to date within your evolving industry?
I have been told by many people that I ask a lot of questions and this is no exception for my customers. I love hearing about what’s going on in their various industries as they’re typically the first to hear about and adapt to big changes. My customers know I’m always interested in a good conversation so a lot of my information comes straight from the companies experiencing the changes. Many of them will have a source (video/article) they can reference for me to look into for more info.
What is one skill that you would like to master?
If I could wake up one day and be an expert at something I would like to have Gordon Ramsay’s cooking abilities. It seems as though he can take anything and turn it into a masterpiece all while making it look effortless. This would be a skill you can take with you anywhere in life and would make plenty of people very happy along the way.
What fictional place would you want to exist?
Without a doubt, it would be J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Middle Earth.” The Lord of the Rings series has always been one of my favourites as it’s overflowing with details on each page/scene (whether you’re reading or watching the movies). The characters are great, the landscapes he describes sound amazing, and I think Gandalf and I would get along pretty well.
