While homeowners across the country spent more time at home, they took on the projects that have been on their to-do list for some time. From updated master bathrooms to complete backyard transformations, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite reviews from 2020 that show despite uncertainty, dream renovations can still come true.
Major Kitchen Renovation (During Pandemic) in Ajax by Level Q Renovation & Design Inc.
Michael from Ajax was so impressed with his project, he wrote this review:
“We would definitely recommend using Level Q, and we plan on using them again.
Our kitchen was severely overdue for a top to bottom renovation. Our plan was to remove 2 load-bearing walls, relocate 1 non-load-bearing wall, install new flooring, cabinets, and appliances while also moving the kitchen to the adjacent room. Level Q was very attentive to our wishes, and they weren’t afraid to tell us if something wouldn’t look quite right. We certainly had a few ideas that we are glad we didn’t go through with, thanks to the ongoing advice provided. They were more than happy to do the things we wanted if we insisted, but we wanted to have their professional input before making decisions.
The demolition part of the renovation took place immediately before the COVID-19 pandemic, which no one could have predicted the impact. Our reno was delayed a couple of months as a result of the provincial shut down. Nevertheless, Level Q adapted to the changing environment and exercised ongoing caution during the pandemic. On top of everything, we welcomed our first born daughter on August 4, 2020. The timeline was certainly cutting it close due to the pandemic, but Level Q did what they needed to so that we could be back in our house before the little one arrived.”

Master Bathroom Renovation in Oakville by D.M.I. Construction & Electric Inc.

“Denis and his crew completely transformed our master bathroom giving us everything we dreamed of. Their attention to detail and workmanship was unbelievable. They treated my renovation as if they were working on their own home. They were unbelievably accommodating considering how detail-oriented and picky we were. His recommendations were spot giving us the modern/contemporary look we were aiming for. We installed a curbless shower, in-floor heating, floating vanity and linen – the pictures speak for themselves. The bathroom is absolutely STUNNING and we can’t believe we have this elegant en-suite to call our own.”

Basement Renovation in Toronto by BCF Contracting Group

“Anyone taking on a large renovation understands the daunting task that is before them. Our basement was straight out of 1974; red shag carpet, wood paneling and mould. BCF Contracting was recommended from a friend who also had work done in their basement. From the very beginning, Florin was professional and understood exactly what we needed as a family.
