Charity Bowling was a success!

The past couple of weeks we’ve been talking about it in the forum, wrote a blog post about it, and even engaged in some friendly trash talk on Twitter.…but last night was the Bowling event for the Canadian Cancer Society and what a success it was!

It was the celebration of The Duct Cleaning Specialists 9th year in business so, owner, Paul Hannah, decided to give something back to the community and have a good time doing it. HomeStars sponsored a team, joined by the stylish and talented folks from Freshbooks, Harris Bath & Kitchen, and Elite Design Concrete. We were also expecting Eco Mechanical, but unfortunately they never showed up.

In addition to the sponsored bowling lanes, Paul had donated prizes for a raffle – gift cards, an Mp3 player, and a Nintendo Wii! The final raffle, the 50/50 draw, was won by Elite Designed Concrete, but he so graciously donated the money back!

Take a look at the photos below to check out the event. My apologies for the grainy photos, it was glow in the dark bowl and I’m not skilled enough to shoot in weird lighting!

It was definitely a pleasure for us to participate and we thank Paul for organizing the event.
With cancer touching all our lives, one way or another, The Cancer Society is a great charity to raise money for. With both Marcelo and I bringing our families, we were glad that there was an additional lane that we were able to sponsor and spread our gang out.
The food and refreshments were a hit too. And what awesome prizes!

We hope to go to more of these events!

Very kind words, Raffy. It was great to see the kids bowl. I’m glad they won
    the Wii! :)
