Drain Rescue Embraces Social Media
In December I wrote a couple of times about some cool examples of home services companies doing some social media marketing. In the last month we’ve seen more. we’ve now found Drain Rescue Toronto trying to one-up them with a whole range of social media tools. In addition to a blog, they have a Facebook page, a MySpace Page, a YouTube page (lets get some videos up there guys), a flikr stream and, in all unlikelyhood, a Twitter account.
In my December post I teased Terry Cord at Drainworks about getting a Twitter Feed. Drain Rescue is going to embrace Twitter. They are going to let their customers track their service calls by monitoring their twitter feed. Like TTC updates where you can find out if your bus is going to be late, you can find out if your drain service technician is caught in traffic by monitoring their feed. If they get it going it could be great! Looks like they’ve just started.
Another option could be to use the new Google Latitudes or Brightkite to track the drivers.
They have also got a charity site called Children of Drain Rescue which supports their charitable causes.
Great work Drain Rescue! Just make sure your drivers get the review on HomeStars when they finish the job.
In an update on our Twitter feed, we now have over 160 followers, including many design professionals, hardware retailers and service providers.
